  The Self Consistency and Harmony Scale (SCCS) was developed by Carol Ryff in 1989 based on her model of psychological well-being, to assess an individual's consistency and coordination in personal growth, self acceptance, life goals, environmental control, autonomy, and positive relationships. However, the concept of "self harmony" is more widely associated with the theory of self consistency in psychology, particularly the concept mentioned in Carl Rogers' humanistic psychology theory. According to Rogers' viewpoint, self harmony refers to the degree of match between a person's ideal self and their real self, that is, the consistency between how a person views themselves (their real self) and what they hope to become (their ideal self).
